Apollo Foam provides innovative, custom engineered polyethylene foam solutions globally
Apollo Foam converts and processes materials that are suitable for use within the building and construction industry.
The need for increased performance in both acoustic and thermal insulation, requires technically advanced materials. They are also required to be flexible and lightweight to suit the application, and eco-friendly is a factor that needs to be considered more and more in new building projects.
Polyethylene and Polyurethane foam are the versatile materials of choice in the building and construction industry. They are known for being used in a variety of applications, including but not limited to:
Construction foam is both versatile and durable, offering a solution that can be used across a range of applications and to solve a variety of problems within the industry.
Polyethylene foam is used extensively in construction, it fills gaps, acts as a barrier to water, oil, and fuel, eliminates draughts, seals eaves and roofing flashing, it’s consistent, durable and insulating. It’s ideal for expansion joints and provides soundproofing and noise control for floor joists and sports flooring.
Sports floors especially require a degree of elasticity to lessen jarring of athletes limbs and joints upon impact. Polyethylene foam with an EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) are ideal for this application due to their fantastic resistance, durability, and compression stress capabilities.
Polyethylene foam is a great movement control material, and is ideal for eaves and ridge fillers, movement joints, and frost blankets due to their lightweight, long life expectancy, sealing properties, and thermal values.
Depending upon the application polyethylene foam can be mixed with an additive to meet more stringent test requirements such as FR (Flame Retardant), UV resistance, compression & tension characteristics, thermal absorption, sound absorption, EVA (Ethylene Vinyl acetate).
Open cell polyurethane foam provides soundproofing, as it is processed and engineered to provide effective noise reduction which can be tailored to suit your specific domestic or industrial environment.
This works because the foam is made up of open cells, which trap the sound-waves to provide noise reduction.
Typical applications for Polyethylene and Polyurethane foam would be:
